On the brink of summer, the Elysian Singers return to the glorious West Wycombe Church to inspire and entertain, with music to suit all tastes. The works of Eric Whitacre have become modern classics, to match Stanford’s ‘The Blue Bird’ and Fauré’s ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’. We dip into English folksong, and celebrate the Queen’s Sapphire Jubilee with tributes by local composers and writers. After a surprising detour into Dr Seuss, we conclude with classics by Rodgers and Gershwin from the American Songbook.
