The Elysians are delighted return to St Paul’s Covent Garden for their ever-popular annual ‘Winter Wonderland’, combining some the best ‘serious’ Christmas choral repertoire with a selection of popular classics in superb modern American arrangements. The first half will feature two carols by the choir’s patron Sir James MacMillan alongside the evergreen John Rutter and two young composers Becky McGlade and Bertie Baigent, before finishing with the high-octane masterpiece ‘Mater ora filium’ by Arnold Bax. We then cross the pond for the second half for some American and Canadian carols and a selection of beautifully crafted upbeat arrangements of all-time favourites including ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Silent Night’.
