In 2004, we recorded a highly successful CD of music by our Patron, Sir James MacMillan, Cantos Sagrados. Tracks are still played regularly by Radio 3 and other radio stations across the world, including the first recordings of So Deep and Tremunt Videntes Angeli.
In October, we shall be recording a second all-MacMillan compilation. Several of the works on this new CD have not been recorded commercially before. Of those that have, most cannot be accessed on Spotify without purchasing the underlying recording. Only the wonderful “Miserere” is likely to be well known.
The programme will be repeated in concert at St Luke’s Chelsea on November 4th.
Knighted in 2015, Sir James MacMillan is one of the UK’s preeminent contemporary composers. His unique choral writing style – spiritual, distinctively Scottish and often profoundly moving – is immediately identifiable.
We are excited about sharing this uplifting repertoire with audiences around the world via i-Tunes, Spotify and our YouTube and SoundCloud channels. However, recordings are expensive, and we need your financial support to help underwrite the costs.
You can contribute in one of three ways:
- Become a Bronze supporter by pre-ordering an electronic version of the CD
- Become a Silver supporter by donating £40. This will entitle you to an electronic copy of the CD, and you will be acknowledged by name in the concert programme
- Become a Gold supporter by donating £100 or more. This will entitle you to an electronic copy of the CD, a free ticket to the concert on November 4th, including reserved VIP seats, a glass of wine and acknowledgement by name in the concert programme
